Treeconomy’s CEO and Co-Founder, Harry Grocott, expressed his enthusiasm for Richard’s addition to the Advisory Board, stating:
“Richard brings a unique insight on the climate technology innovation ecosystem, as well as a clear voice for integrity. Rob & I are proud to have his backing, and look forward to being held to account in building a scalable impact business.”
Richard Templer also expressed his enthusiasm for joining Treeconomy's board, stating:
“Treeconomy has a clear vision of how to do CO2 removals through the establishment of forestry that enhances and sustains biodiversity. Coupling atmospheric removal of CO2 with our care of nature is crucial to the well-being of our planet. I am therefore delighted to be able to help Harry and Rob grow their business and make a positive impact on the planet.”
Richard is widely recognized for his dedication to supporting innovators and entrepreneurs addressing the causes and impacts of climate change. Notably, he co-founded Climate-KIC in 2010 and served as its UK Director and Director of Education, highlighting his commitment to fostering climate innovation.
Under his leadership, Climate-KIC launched the UK’s first specialist accelerator for climate innovations, aiding pre-seed investment start-ups in developing technologies to remove and store CO2 from the atmosphere. Even after departing Climate-KIC, Richard continued to drive the accelerator program, catalysing a surge in climate innovation.
Over the past decade, the accelerator has supported 148 pre-seed start-ups, raising over $1 billion in funding and creating more than 1,500 jobs in the new economy. Templer's dedication extends to establishing Undaunted, London’s hub for climate innovation, backed by the Mayor of London. Undaunted is home to CO2RE and CGFI, crucial national collaborations supporting atmospheric greenhouse gas removal and green finance innovation.
We extend a warm welcome to Richard Templer, appreciating his expertise, vision, and unwavering dedication to combating climate change.
